The Euphoria of Completion

 

All things begin and spark with enthusiasm, but only profound ideas backed by faith and dedication reach completion. The completion of any major project has had years of creative input, tactician like planning, full-scale activation, effortless labouring, frustrating challenges, artistic refinement , persuasive marketing and the finished product can stand alone. It is often a lifetime achievement, though some may have had two or three major accomplishments over the years.
Not all ideas will reach completion if the underlying contention is weak. Completion requires a firm foundation, a balanced structure and true belief in the theory at hand. No half-hearted idea will reach fruition – it takes the eccentric secretive genius within to reach the ecstasy of completion. The core components of any great achievement are belief and dedication; any project will wither without these supports. Only those who have battled with the sword of love and wisdom will know exultation.
 
Celebrate with that euphoric smile that resonates through your whole being. Enjoy the outward or public celebrations with reverence and gusto. Know that you did what you set out to do through difficult and joyous times. Reap the rewards of your labours and be at peace, before the next epic endeavour requires your attention.

  The breadcrumbs of misogyny are easily seen in a history of women’s suffering and denial of rights. Patriarchal religious societies that purposely put men first for at least two thousand years are now witnessing its noxious failure. Corrupt governments that are self-focused are quickly measured by angry public sentiment. Governments without gender balance have become dens of mistrust. Lack of respect towards women in male dominated workplaces can be uncomfortable or become dangerous. Systemic sexism developed slowly; its design seeping toxically through millennia and distorting daily life. Parent’s desires to have boys, because they could work and support their parents in retirement and carry on the family name, only added to social attitudes towards girls and women. Fatherhood, a Century of Change, No. 49

The changing role of fathers as parents has brought dramatic differences to the family unit with a century. During the difficult war years and great depression men kept their emotions hidden in order to portray certain strengths of character and calm. They were told that men don’t cry even though they had witnesses many horrors and heartaches – their role as head of the household was to be invincible and ever-strong in front of their families. This restrictive rhetoric led many to self-imposed emotional prisons, where escapism often led to substance abuse. This created an invisible wall that partially separated families from really knowing each other at a deeper level. The pressures of fatherhood were demanding as many struggled to find the steady work needed to support large families.
